Our Programs
Our program includes Academic Enhancement which focuses on humanities and mathematics. Academic Enhancement is provided through weekly 1.5 hour classes for each subject that runs concurrently with the school year. YSIBA's Academic Support program is designed to help students succeed in current coursework and is provided through one-on-one tutoring for all grades. YSIBA's Character Development Program is a mentoring program for elementary, middle and high school that pairs students with peer and adult mentors.
Our Students
Our program is designed to address the achievement gaps within the African American student population within the Greater San Francisco Bay area with an initial focus on the Tri-Valley areas of Castro Valley, Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore and San Ramon. Our program focuses on grades 3 through 5 for the 2018-2019 school year with a plan to expand to middle and high school grades over the next 5 years.
